Programs of studies

All classes in our center are divided into regular and extra.
The duration and frequency of the regular classes depend on the program which you chose to study (the description of the programs are below). Extra classes (discussion classes, where you have an opportunity to discuss with the native-speaking teachers on different topics) are conducted twice a day Monday through Thursday for 30 minutes before and/or after regular classes with Americans. All our students are allowed to attend extra classes without extra pay.

THE MAIN PROGRAM

It includes four levels: Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Upper-intermediate.
It is a modern American English program called Top Notch (in Ukraine) or True Colors (in Russia). Its main goal is to help students learn to converse easily.

Each level lasts 2 terms (14 weeks). The classes are conducted 3 times a week. Two classes (lasting 90 minutes) are conducted by foreign teachers – native speakers. The third class – grammar - is held by a qualified Ukrainian\Russian teacher. The cost of student’s books, workbooks, grammar books, and audio tapes is included into the cost of studying.

If you start studying from the upper levels and you feel that you missed some grammar topics from previous levels, we give you an opportunity to attend grammar lessons of other levels without additional pay.

EXTRA PROGRAMS

The level for the beginners - BASIC

It consists of 2 terms (14 weeks). The classes are conducted twice a week (for 105 minutes) by a qualified Ukrainian\Russian teacher, using audio tapes. This level is for students who begin to study English from the alphabet or have minimal knowledge of the language. During this level the teacher will help you gain sufficient knowledge to continue studying with foreign teachers.

ADVANCED level is 2 terms of studying with native speakers, twice a week for 90 minutes every class (you have an opportunity to attend all the extra classes and grammar classes).

BUSINESS level (Intermediate & Upper-Intermediate) consists of two terms. The classes are twice a week for 120 minutes, using video materials. The main book is Market leader from Longman. This is the latest business English program. There are articles from business English newspapers like Financial Times and others. The video course is an essential part of the program, it will help you to feel in the environmental of the business world, which is very important for learning special terms. Foreign teachers conduct the classes (with the opportunity to attend all the extra classes and grammar lessons).

THE PREPARATION FOR TOEFL

If you want to pass TOEFL in Ukraine, a highly-qualified Ukrainian teacher will help you gain the necessary knowledge and skills. This exam is required for enterance into American and Canadian universities and colleges. The program lasts 2 terms. There are classes twice a week for 120 min. featuring audio materials. A special training book to pass the TOEFL exam is used in the class. The book includes a CD. Also, there are additional materials used to help you learn the necessary vocabulary fast.
