Social programs
In addition to education our Center is interested in supporting social
projects and bringing them to life. We also support and participate in
various charitable activities. We do not want to stand aside and be indifferent
towards those who really need help and support. The team at our Center
is willing to participate in the cultural life of the city. Our input
might be not so great but we do it willingly - working to sharing of cultural
values, preaching healthy lifestyle and organizing charitable projects.
Besides our general discounts system we developed special discounts for
orphans and disabled children. We believe that such people also have the
right to a normal life; even non-essential help can change their life
in a certain way. In some cases, we find sponsors for tuition of such
people in our Center.
During the period our Center has existed, we brought
to life a couple of such projects and participated in special projects
for youth and charitable projects. Here are some recent activities:
Jan. 09. 2004
ADRA-International,
English Language Center and Dniprovsky department of Public
Education had hold the charity action for the orphans, which was
devoted to Christmas holilday. The acton was hold within the project "Children
of Europe - to children of Ukraine". After entertaining musical program
the orphans were gifted 200 boxes of Chritmas presents, specially collected
for them by the children from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.The action
took place in the public hall, kindly given by the administration of the
joint-stock company "VNIIHIMPROJECT", in the building 11 on
M. Raskovoy str.
Jan. 10. 2003.
Our Center, together with charitable organization ADRA
and supported by the education department of regional state
administration of Dneprovsky district of Kiev, organized a charitable
Christmas program for orphaned children living in Dneprovsky district.
The aim of the program was to render aid for children,
who do not have parents and also to develop closer communication among
children. More than a hundred children were invited to visit the concert;
they received Christmas presents - parcels that were sent from Germany
for the children. Our foreign teachers became a part of the program -
they sang traditional American Christmas songs.
Dec. 13. 2002 - Dec. 22. 2002
Our Center also participated in
a youth program called "Horrors week - 2".
It was held downtown - in the building of Mathematics institute
on 13 - 22 December.
The aim of the project was to show the young people
of Kiev in a special interesting way the danger of bad habits such as
smoking, drinking and taking drugs. The program was organized by a youth
club "Kaleidoscope" supported by youth civil organization
"Academy of Ukrainian Youth". Our Center was one of the
sponsors of the program. There were also other sponsors - "Ukrainian
Institute of Arts and Science", international Center "AIMC",
"Troll" - youth fashion, "Center of Scientific
Researches and Development", "IBS-Ukraine" and
others.
May 26. 2002 - May 30. 2002
Our Center was the general sponsor of a youth program "Horrors
week " which was held on May 26 - 30. The program started on
Khreshchatik and the main part of it took place in Obolon in the
"Bratislava" cinema house. The main topic of the program
was healthy life style. The program was organized by a youth club "Let's
Become Friends" supported by youth civil organization "Academy
of Ukrainian Youth". The informational sponsor of the program
was "Gala radio", sponsors support was also rendered
by "Troll"- youth fashion and "Mac Smack™"
cafes.
June 2001
The program "Youth Against Smoking", organized by the
international medical Center "AIMC" and supported by
Kiev Major's administration, included a march against smoking.
After marching, there was a musical program with games and present from
sponsors held on Kreshchatik. The topic of the entertainment program was
also a healthy life style. Our Center participated in the musical part
of the program.
