Paul Henry
Henry Paul {$patronic_name}

An Ulsterman, Paul did his schooling in Belfast before going on to Trinity College, Cambridge to read Classics. After his first teaching post at Geelong Grammar in Australia, Paul returned to Europe to continue his musical studies in Copenhagen with Jorma Panula and subsequently in Italy at the Rossini Conservatory. More recently Paul returned to Italy after a period in Germany this time in a commercial capacity with a high-end fibre glass importer.

Paul has a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from King’s College, London and a Certificate of English Language Teaching for Adults (CELTA). He began working as an English Business trainer in Germany for companies such as BASF, Bosch, SAP and Siemens. He has been in Ukraine now for just over a year working as a freelance English coach. He keeps his musical interests alive, however and has several musical projects in the pipeline.

Hello, My name is Virgil McCoy. I am from Chattanooga, Tennessee in the United States. I have lived there since I was a child. I have worked as a consultant for food manufacturers and warehouses for the last eight years, and have done volunteer teaching for a non profit organization, of various subjects, for ten years. My wife and I are both teachers and are here with our twelve year old son. We enjoy exploring Kyiv and different parts of Ukraine in our spare time. My name is Paul, I'm from the centre of England (not London) and I am a new teacher at ELC. I have been working and living in Kyiv for the last year and enjoy it here. I'm interested in several things, such as watching sport, films and computing. Most of all, of course, I'm interested in language. Hello inquiring minds! My name is technically Brent Jordan Yocum. However, I go by Brent Xavyer Jordan. I want to introduce you to myself briefly. I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have been speaking English since my very first word. I went to University at three different schools: Union College, Southeast College, and Anoka-Ramsey College. I am a Language Arts major.  I am excited about the opportunity to teach in another country. I love long walks on the beach, reading poetry, and being a silly dude! I am Michael Dean Montross. Dean Montross is my father. I was born in Fresno, California. I have spoken English all my life and was raised in the north of Washington State where American English is perfect, although I speak fast and slur my words. I attended Walla Walla University, I am a Biology major and enjoy nature as a result. I like studying Indo-European mythologies, I love ancient and prehistoric European history, and enjoy languages. I know Spanish, and am currently working on Russian.

Now she is teaching English at German philology department of Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Sciences and is a postgraduate. The theme of her thesis is “New Zealand dialect of English”. “I graduated from a musical college and my hobby is to play the piano and sing in English.”

Sergey Antonovich graduated from an institute of foreign languages in 1982. After graduating he worked at many educational establishments of Russia and Ukraine. Now he is teaching applied disciplines of English at German philology department of Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Sciences and grammar in ELC.

Svetlana Redko
Redko Svetlana

Svetlana Petrovna graduated from Kiev State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages (French and English) in 1973. She received the second education at Kiev Shevchenko State University in 1984. Qualification of Philologist and Teacher of the Russian language and literature.” She worked as an interpreter for foreign citizens and as a teacher of Russian as a foreign language at Kiev Engineering and Building Institute. Svetlana worked in Vietnam at the Hanoi branch of Pushkin Institute of the Russian language. Vietnam Council of ministers awarded her the medal “ Friendship” and her name was included into “The Golden book”, 27.05.87. (reg.# 282). Since 1998 she has been working as a teacher of English. At ELC Svetlana Petrovna teaches Russian as a foreign language.

Lilia Rudiak
Rudiak Lilia

Lilia was born in Kiev. In 2005 she graduated from the Kiev Dragomanov National Teachers Training University, where she got the qualification of a teacher of English language and foreign literature. The last year at the university Lilia started working as a private teacher. She taught both schoolchildren and adults. Then she dicided to enrich her teaching experience by working in the ELC. "I enjoy my recent job because a foreign language is also one of my hobbies. Studying a foreign language we get to know native speakers culture and mentality."

Julia Arslanova
Arslanova Julia Takhirovna

Julia was born and grew up in Siverland where there's a town of Pryluky in Chernihiv region. Since her childhood she's been in love with the English language and studied it persistently beginning right at school. And there was no doubt choosing the profession as there was a desire to reveal the beauty of this interesting and a fortiori so demanded language in our society to other people. After finishing school she followed with the years of studying at Pryluky Pedagogical School and Hlukhiv State Pedagogical University. The last year at the Institute she started to work as a teacher of English at a local lycee with advanced study of English. The pupils were kids of different age, pupils of different grades from the second up to the tenth. Having graduated from the University she worked at the Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Sciences at the subdepartment of Germanic Languages. Now all her time is devoted to the ELC students. "I enjoy being the FAVOURITE teacher who is pleasant to refer to over and over again!" :)

Iryna is a professor of Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko and Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Science. She got her PhD in Institute of Philology of Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko. Her major is Russian and Ukrainian as foreign languages. "Teaching is my life. In 1997 I entered and in 2002 graduated from Nizhyn State Gogol Teachers' Training University, Foreign Languages Department, got a diploma of a Teacher of English and German (with honors). I also got a Qualification of a Practical psychologist in the educational establishments. After graduating from the university, I stayed to work in the Foreign Languages Department, chair of the English language and the methods of teaching and taught practical phonetics and practical English. In 2005 I passed a qualifying examination for the candidate degree (with honors) in Nizhyn State Gogol University.Teaching experience is 4 years.

I am Russian. I was born in Samara. I am keen on English from the very childhood. At the age of 3 I could "sing songs" together with "Beatles":) My almamater is Kuban State Technological University. Now I study English philology at Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Science. My hobbies - conducting choir, clasical vocal, window-painting, kayaking. My students are my everything.

You must be wondering about the education I have. I graduated from Ukrainian College of Art and Science with the Bachelor’s degree in Philology. I also have a Master’s degree in translation which I received at Kiev International University!

 

In life I am a very simple person.  I love nature, Ukrainian people, hiking, and I take a great interest in cultures and languages of the world surrounding me! Hello, my name is Valeriy Sabirov. I have been teaching English at ELC - both general English and Business English, both in groups and privately since September 2008. My first education was in civil engineering and in this part of my life I worked at the Institute of Mechanics at the Academy of Science of Ukraine, served as a military engineer at Baikonur in Kazahstan. But as long as I remember myself English was always my hobby. Later it became my second profession. I've got a diploma of the teacher of English language and literature at Kiev Boris Grinchenko Pedagogical Univesity teaching English there at the same time. For the time being I've been teaching English for more than 15 years, both at the institutions and privately. I was born in Kyiv. I studied successfully at Romanic Germanic faculty of Kyiv State University named after T.G.Shevchenko where   I was certified as Philologist, teacher of English.  After graduation, I had been working at KPI as a translator. I took part in selection of scientific articles available for given assignments. My job dealt with translation of scientific proceeding reported in different international conferences held in our country and abroad as well. Later on I have joined the group of employees of KPI’s Computer Centre, who participated in supplying software to launch the space Shuttle BURAN. During the cooperation with KPI I have provided more than 400 translations of various articles in different branches of science. After the project displacement I began to work as a senior teacher at the foreign languages Chair of KPI.

I am married, have 2 adult sons and a little granddaughter.
